INTERNATIONAL UNDERGRADUATE SUMMIT

Atlanta, GA – From February 1-4, 2024, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity held its International Undergraduate Summit at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis in Atlanta, Georgia. Over 800 undergraduate brothers and advisors attended the summit. During the event, Grand Basileus Ricky Lewis addressed the Brotherhood with his vision for the summit, as he challenged the undergraduates to network with other undergraduates and potential fraternal mentors among the older brotherhood, as well as to pursue job opportunities with representatives of companies, military, and government. The undergraduate agenda included a social media presentation where brothers were sternly warned to refrain from abusing social media, especially when video broadcast and pictures depict our fraternity in a negative way. Other topics were discussed protocol training, membership code of conduct, ritualistic training and “brother you are on my mind”. During the Dr. Ronald E. McNair Undergraduate Luncheon, fraternity officials recognized undergraduate brothers for various academic and community service achievements. Undergraduate Advisors retreated to a separate breakout meeting where presenters discussed advising best practices, risk management, special-events checklist requirements, and mentorship. Undergraduate Advisors in attendance were 1st Vice 7th District Representative James Reed - Rho Epsilon Chapter (Tougaloo College); 1st Vice State Representative of Mississippi Tredrick Johnson – Upsilon Delta Delta (Delta State University); Immediate Past State Representative Christopher Barnett – Eta Chapter (Alcorn State University); Bro. Mike Weaver – Upsilon Epsilon (Jackson State University); Bros. Kendrick Cox and Travarus Horton – Beta Theta Chapter (Mississippi Valley State University); Bro. Donald Deans – Kappa Beta Chapter (Rust College); Bro. Jeremy Gladney – Eta Zeta Chapter (University of Mississippi); Bro. Also in attendance were Mississippi State Representative Carlos D. Vaughn.
